Kalo, a new product from Nisim International, is a revolutionary hair inhibitor that will permanently keep unwanted hair from growing back. Sold as an aqueous spray mist ideal for large areas like legs and backs, or soothing lotion ideal for smaller and sensitive areas like face and bikini line. Kalo's proprietary formula works directly in the follicle, neutralizing the key elements necessary for hair to grow, without damaging skin tissue or causing irritation. Every time you remove hair and then use Kalo, you can expect that 10 to 15 per cent of the hair will never grow back. This is because, at any given time, 10 to 15 per cent of hair on a person's body are in the anagen, or initial growth stage-the hair best affected by Kalo. The 85-90 per cent of the hair that does grow back will be weaker, finer, and have less color. After only a few hair removal sessions, the results will be dramatically evident, with up to 50 per cent of the hair permanently gone within six months. You can use Kalo for Facial Hair - upper lip, eyebrows, chin, sideburns, legs underarms, back, chest, pubic hair, bikini line, and ears. (1) 4 oz. Kalo spray & (1) 2 oz. | Ingredients for Kalo Spray:
Kalo's effectiveness relies on first physically removing the unwanted hair in a way that removes the hair shaft and bulb without breaking the hair and leaves the follicle open: usually accomplished by waxing, sugaring or tweezing or by using the Emjoi Optima. After the hair is removed, Kalo is applied over the area and thoroughly rubbed in: three times in succession the first day, three times in succession the next day. Kalo is not used again until the next hair removal session.
Ingredients for Kalo Lotion:

didn't think it would work, but was willing to try anythingJul 31, 2010 i can't laser b/c my hair is red-blonde and my skin is fair, but my leg and arm hair is extremely coarse and there's a ton of it. i check regularly to see if there are new developments on the laser front for us poor redheads, but noooo. if i complained about it to people, they'd look at me and say 'but you can't see it!' but then they'd feel my legs w/ a day or two of growth and recoil in horror.
the final insult came when my twin toddlers sat on my lap (w/ my legs crossed) and yelled 'your legs are hurting me!!' wow.
needless to say, i was skeptical about yet another miracle product, but was willing to try anything that had a hope of working. i've been using kalo now for about 2 months (w/ a braun silk-epil). the first epilating process was like torture, but i was complaint w/ the kalo, and noticed that the second epilation a week later really wasn't bad. i've been using it weekly, and could tell there was a difference, but last friday i shaved to go out (epilating doesn't get it as smooth as shaving) and by this friday i could really see that i had MUCH less hair--i'd say about 1/2 the amount i'd normally see a week after shaving, and what was there wasn't nearly as coarse.
THANK YOU KALO!!! i wish i'd known about this stuff 20 years ago!

It DOES work, just takes time.Jun 06, 2010 I am hair removal obsessed. I've tried depilatories, creams, numerous waxes, pretty much everything on the market except for the cost-prohibitive laser hair removal in my quest for a hair-free body.
I discovered Kalo over 10 years ago and have been using it religiously ever since. (Warning: I'm about to get personal in this review. Stop reading if the details of hair removal make you squeamish.)
When I started out my legs were covered with dark brown hair, much hairier than my husband's. I couldn't shave because the stubble was horrific even by the end of the day. I switched to waxing and then using Kalo inhibitor afterward.
I didn't notice much in the way of results the first few times, but I stuck with it. My hair became lighter and finer (thanks to repeated waxing.) Eventually, I developed hairless patches on my legs.
Am I hairfree today? Not by a long shot. But I have large hair-free spots on my shins and inner thighs and the hair growth is much more sparse. If you are more fair-haired, I suspect you'll get quicker and more dramatic results. The reason it takes so long to get results is because you actually have at least 3 hairs that sprout out of each follicle. It takes repeated hair removal sessions to treat each of these.
KEYS TO SUCCESS WITH THIS PRODUCT:
1) Choose a hair removal method that rips the hair out by the roots. Sugaring with Nair Hair Removal Kit, Microwave Wax for Legs, Body, and Bikini Area, Fresh Peach Melon (Pack of 2) is my method of preference; it's cheap and it works well to remove hair once you get the knack.
2) Stick with it. If you are REALLY hairy, you probably won't have noticeable results for at least 2-3 hair removal sessions. It takes time.
PROS:
- You will have a significant reduction in the amount and coarseness of hair over time.
- It's easy to use; just slather on the lotion or rub in the spray.
CONS:
- The expense. (I actually think it's quite reasonable; one bottle lasts me 4-5 months since you only use it after hair removal sessions.)
- Requires waxing, sugaring or other epilating method beforehand. This can be painful, expensive or time-consuming.
- Slow acting.
If you're already waxing or are willing to give it a shot, this inhibitor will work great for you. But don't expect an overnight miracle and don't expect to see dramatic results if you're only shaving beforehand.

FantasticAug 26, 2008 I have spent thousands of dollars on laser and electrolysis and the hair kept on growing back. I have had incredible results after one application and recommend this product to everyone.

good product, bad combo priceAug 29, 2007 I agree with the review above, where on earth did they get this price??? However, for the product it self, I highly recommend it, it hasn't done any lasting effects (but I haven't been able to afford it consistently) however, I did notice a large decrease in the amount of hair and an increase between my hair removal intervals
